The head of the Urban Development Committee Vahagn Vermishyan has been arrested.  Iravaban.net learned this from NSS press center.

The court also granted the motion to detain the former head of the Investigation Committee’s Yerevan Investigation Department, John Charkhoyan, while holding that the pledge is permissible.

Notably Vermishyan was charged with taking a particularly large bribe. According to the NSS, using the official position contrary to the interests of the service, and based on personal interest, in accordance with the agreements reached with construction workers or representatives of construction companies, both personally and through close ties with Vermishyan in five cases, large and particularly large – 1,000,000-2,500.000 AMD and a bribe in the form of money or property values in 2019 acted in favor of them or contributed to taking and provide prompt decisions
