Vahagn Vermishyan, Chairman of the RA Urban Development Committee, was appointed to the post in on 21 March 2019, by decision of the Government.

Vahagn Vermishyan submitted a statement on 14 May, 2019.
As of that day he declared:
- 4 private houses,
- an apartment in a multi-apartment building,
- a country house,
- VOLVO XC 90 T6 passenger car,
- JAGUAR XJ8 passenger car.
As of the day he assumed office, his funds were:
- 12 million AMD
- 18 thousand Euros
- $ 250,000.
Notably, On 5, February the head of the RA Urban Development Committee Vahagn Vermishyan was arrested by the National Security Service.
The NSS statement says that during a meeting on October 23, 2019, the head of the Urban Development Committee agreed to nominate an owner of several construction companies to the title of “Honored Builder of Armenia”, receiving a bribe of 5,000 US $ drams bribe equivalent to about 2,379,950 AMD and construction materials worth to about $ 2,300,000 AMD.
Within the framework of the criminal case initiated at the RA NSS Investigation Department according to the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, the persons allegedly committed the crime were arrested, three of them, including the Chairman of the aforementioned Committee, were detained and charged. At the same time, a bribe-taking official confessed to committing the crime while being questioned as a suspect. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
