The Special Investigation Service has clarified the search carried out at the house of the President of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan.

“Taking into account the public’s right to receive objective information, we consider it necessary to state that Hrayr Tovmasyan’s defense lawyer Amram Makinian’s statement that Hrayr Tovmasyan and his defense team are not allowed to get acquainted with the court’s decision to conduct a search in Tovmasyan’s apartment is a clear misinformation. We consider it necessary to inform that investigator provided an opportunity to the individuals participating in the search, including the defense team, to familiarize themselves with the decision, in accordance with the procedure established by the criminal law. A. Makinyan’s statement above seeks to hinder the conduct of the investigation.

Taking into account the aforementioned, we urge Hrayr Tovmasyan’s defense team to act within the scope of the law and to refrain from making statements that are untrue and misleading the public.”
