Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan denies: “My wife has not been working in the office of the RA NA Speaker Lena Nazaryan since summer 2019.
I have not directly or indirectly participated in the management of a law firm and have no affiliation with it (my wife obtained a license in 2016, and information on this is available at advocates.am website).
I myself was a shareholder of another law firm, but in order to avoid conflicts of interest, I still gave up my shares when I was working at the State Revenue Committee.
P.S. The customer’s order is again badly executed, with the funds allocated for this purpose giving zero results and new costs are ahead.
P.S. 2: Reforms, development of policies necessary for effective fight against corruption will continue unabated,” Badasyan noted.
Notably, publicist Narek Malyan made an earlier statement on this issue and noted: “Many already know that immediately after Rustam Badasyan’s appointment as Justice Minister, his wife, Tatevik Sargsyan, founded a legal services company. It is certainly commendable for the minister to be quick to make a business decision, but few know that the minister’s wife is also a government employee. In particular, Tatevik Sargsyan, according to the official website of the National Assembly, is an employee of the Office of the Vice President of the National Assembly Lena Nazaryan and receives salary from the state budget along with her business activities. I leave the issue ‘to what extent is business and public work compatible’ to the discussion of the experts and journalists.”
Lena Nazaryan has made a statement on the issue as well.
