Anna Danibekyan rejected Petition to lift the Ban on Border Movement of Yuri Khachaturov

The trial of the second RA President Robert Kocharyan, former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, former CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan presided by Judge Anna Danibekyan is in process today on 3 December at the Shengavit residence of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan.

During the session Yuri Khachaturov’s attorney Mihran Poghosyan filed a motion to lift the control of his client’s border movement.

Yerevan Prosecutor Gevorg Baghdasaryan in his speech mentioned that the motion is not a matter of trial and will not be discussed. He noted that the court has no authority to require the national security service and the police to provide  grounds for the committed actions or decisions in the past, because they cannot be the subject of the question.

Prosecutor Petros Petrosyan stated in his speech that the motion had nothing to do with this criminal case.

“Actions by the police are lawful or not lawful. Actions are purported crime or not. Speaking about them during this trial is simply to make an impression to show see what happened. If there is such information, at least I’m not aware as a prosecutor. “

Judge Anna Danibekyane denied the motion, stating, that the motion to lift the control over Yuri Khachaturov’s boarder movement is objectless and the court cannot eliminate what has not been used by the body conducting the proceedings in this criminal case.
