The Football Federation of Armenian convened an Executive Committee Meeting.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Artur Vanetsyan, the Chairman of the Football Federation of Armenian, said that he had proposed and announced to the executive committee members to accept his resignation.
He noted that the Armenian national team suffered an unprecedented defeat in Italy, which was worrying for him.
“As the President of the FFA, I announced that they shpuld accept my resignation. We had a long discussion in the Executive Committee,” Vanetsyan said and passed the floor to Ruben Rubinyan.
He noted that the executive committee had decided to accept his resignation.
“We have come to the conclusion that the Federation and the Armenian football should recover, the healing process should begin. A meeting will be convened on December 23, during which a new chairperson and executive body will be elected,” Rubinyan said.
He noted that the elected persons should be related to football, not from other fields.
