Ani Khachatryan, a member of the “Luys” Faction of Yerevan Council of the Elders, spoke to the reporters on 18 November about the construction of a new metro station.

Member of the Council noted that the city authorities understood that the plan to build a new metro station would not be possible.

“There is a promise in the five-year municipal authority program, which promises another station, which should be in the Surmalu and Petak (Hive) shopping centers. There the subway goes over the open space, over the bridge, we just need to have a roof, and that is, we don’t need anything. I think that the city authorities, will not be able to implement, the project they have shown and shaken for a month, and have found an alternative, it is building a staircase and saying that we have a new metro station,” Ani Khachatryan noted.

She also referred to the issue of garbage disposal, noting that the cars bought for garbage disposal are already in poor condition.

“When we were saying let’s not spend money from the city budget, let’s get other operators involved, there was no one listening to us. If we consider that garbage disposal is just emptying a waste bin, we are mistaken,” the council member said.
