Political scientist, member of the Public Council Styopa Safaryan has issued a statement saying that he wants to leave the Council, which will be finally decided in two days.

“At the Public Council meeting, two of my respectable colleagues, Babken Papoyan and Karen Zadoyan, made unexpected, preliminary announcement to suspend their membership in the Public Council from tomorrow, which will be presented in greater detail to the appointing body, the government, tomorrow. Since I was speaking much earlier than my colleagues, I naturally could not express any attitude about it anymore, but the subsequent speeches and the atmosphere at the Public Council made it clear that I was also facing the imperative to reflect on my work and time spent in that institution. Accordingly, I will present my final thoughts and actions to the body, which appointed me in the Council: the Government and the public within two days at the latest.
