Vazgen Sargsyan’s nephew Karlen Sargsyan, visited the Yerablur Pantheon on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the October 27 terrorist act. In response to Iravaban.net’s question he said, “I can’t say and express an opinion as to who was the client. It iss already 20 years since October 27th, and I haven’t lived without Vazgen until now, and it’s going to be so during my whole life. I think this pain is not only mine; it is the whole Armenian nations, our people’s. “
Referring also to the request of conditional early release of Nairi Hunanyan, head of the terrorist group sentenced to life in prison on 27 October case, to Vazgen Sargsyan’s nephew said, “He has the right to demand as 20 years have passed, but it is excluded that he will be given freedom, whoever is the head of state, he will not be released.”

It should be reminded that on October 27, 1999, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia was attacked during the question and answer session with the Government.
RA NA Speaker Karen Demirchyan, Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, National Assembly Vice Speakers Ruben Miroyan and Yuri Bakhshyan, Minister of Operations Affairs Leonard Petrosyan, MPs Armenak Armenakyan, Henrik Abrahamyan and Mikael Kotanyan were killed, are 8 injured and 91 were captured.
The 27 October judgment was announced on 2 December, 2003. According to the court ruling, 6 people were sentenced to life imprisonment and one person to 14 years in prison.
