On October 7, Nikol Pashinyan signed a decision dismissing Valeriy Osipyan from the post of Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister.
The decision reads:
“Guided by Article 9 (10) of the Republic of Armenia Law on Public Service, dismiss Valeriy Osipyan from the post of Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister.”
Section Article 9 (10) of the Law states that persons holding public discretionary appointments shall be appointed and dismissed by the head of the state body or the head of the subordinate state body where they will be in employment relations.
This means that Osipyan was dismissed by the Prime Minister’s decision, not on his own request.
