The subject matter of the possibility of providing the anti-corruption body a status of a constitutional body has always existed. The former Deputy Justice Minister Tigran Khachikyan wrote this on his Facebook page.
“Honorable Representatives of Public Organizations, Dear Colleagues, as an additional and extremely important guarantee of independence during the elaboration of the draft anti-corruption strategy, the question of the possibility of providing the anti-corruption body a status of a constitutional body has always existed.
Its necessity is obvious to the extent that this event, amongst many other justifications, is directly relevant to the essence of the real anti-corruption policy.
Taking into consideration the above-mentioned, I propose to discuss this issue in a more in-depth format in the current phase of the strategy development,” he mentioned.
