Araik Tunyan was born on January 6, 1966 in Stepanavan.
From 1984 to 1986 he served in the Soviet Army.
In 1991 he graduated with honors from the Department of Law of Moscow State University.
In 1995 he took postgraduate study at Russian Academy of Sciences and obtained his PhD in Law.
In 2004 he was awarded a qualification in “Economics and Business” in Regional Institute of Information Technologies at the World Trade Organization (Egypt, Cairo).
In 2007 he was awarded a qualification in “European Integration – Constitutional and Legislative Reforms” at the Secretariat of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe (Italy, Trieste).
1999 – 2005 he worked as Senior Specialist at the Department of Legislative Issues, he was Deputy Head of Department of Legislative Issues, Head of Division of Economic Legislation of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.
Since 2000 he is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University.
Since 2004 he is the Head of the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure at the Faculty of Law of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University.
