On April 16, Mt. Artak Zeynalyan, the RA Minister of Justice received, Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the organiser of the International Anti-Corruption Conference – Armenian Lawyers’ Association, “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project Manager and the international experts, UNDP anti-corruption experts Mr. Anga Timminsina, and Ms Aida Arutyunova and the Deputy Coordinator of the World Bank’s Stolen Assets Recovery Initiative Mr. Shervin Majlessi.
The Government-Civil Society International Expert Conference: “RA Anti-Corruption Strategy under International Experience” will be launched tomorrow, April 17.
The Conference is organised by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia in the framework of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project supported by the European Union, and in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Centre for International Private Enterprises (CIPE).
Deputy Minister of Justice Mr. Tigran Khachikyan, UNDP Armenia, Head of Management and IBM department of UNDP Armenia Ms Alla Bakunts and UNDP Policy Adviser in Armenia David Harutyunyan and others took participated in the meeting.
Karen Zadoyan thanked the Minister of Justice for meeting with organisers and international experts before the International Anti-Corruption Conference and noted that the Armenian Lawyers Association of and CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia will do their best to have a new anti-corruption strategy based on solidarity, cooperation and consensus.
Minister Zeynalyan noted that the Government is decisive to materialize the intangible value of the revolution. “We are ready to cooperate with you to get the most knowledge and experience in the fight against corruption,” Artak Zeynalyan noted.
In the course of the meeting the parties touched upon the topics to be discussed at the conference, in particular the type of anti-corruption body, the international experience of the return of the assets acquired illegally, the anti-corruption education and other issues.
