President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sargsyan nominated Gor Hovhannisyan for the vacant position of the Constitutional Court Judge.
In the interview with Iravaban.net Mr. Michael Schnelle, judge at the district court of Bremen noted that for the Armenian Constitutional Court, Gor Hovhannisyan would undoubtedly be a great asset.
“I have known him since 2008 from Speyer, where we studied together at the German University of Administrative Sciences. He was one of the best students and brightest minds of the year. Gor quickly found his way into the German legal system and was able to continue his studies and practice with clever contributions,” Mr. Michael Schnelle said.
The Judge believes that Gor Hovhannisyan is a corresponding person for the position of Judge of the Constitutional Court of Armenia, because he is a balanced personality, and at the same time assertive and not conflict-shy, responsible and reliable. “In my opinion, these qualities make a good judge.” Mr. Schnelle added.
Notably, according to Article 141 (5) of the Constitutional Law “The Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly”, the issue of electing judge of the Constitutional Court’s will be discussed at the first sitting of the regular National Assembly to be convened on April 16.
