Criminal authority Artur Asatryan (Don Pipo) was detained by the court decision. Iravaban.net’s reporter informs from the court.

Artur Asatryan’s advocate Gegham Hakobyan stated that the court had satisfied the motion to  choose a detention as a preventive measure.

Artur Asatryan was arrested and detained by the National Security Service on June 16.

Artur Asatryan, nicknamed “Don Pipo”, has been detained in the framework of the criminal case on possible kidnapping of persons preparing to commit murder investigated by the Investigative Department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of which in a private house belonging to Arthur Asatryan, adjacent buildings and other areas illegal weapons and ammunition were found. Artur Asatryan was arrested pursuant to Article 131, paragraphs 1, 2, 3 and 6 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (kidnapping of three persons by a group of persons with prior agreement; by using violence dangerous for life or health or threat of using violence; “) and Article 235 (Part 2) (Illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices, committed by a group with prior agreement”) On suspicion of committing a crime. Four more persons, who are RF citizens, were detained in the scope of the same criminal case.

On the same day, National Assembly deputy Manvel Grigoryan was detained.
