National Assembly discusses Ratification of Armenia-EU Agreement

On 10 April, the National Assembly is discussing the issue of ratifying the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union.

“We are convinced that the effective steps of the Government in the Armenia-EU relations should be accompanied by the support and confidence of the legislator. I think that the cooperation agreement between Armenia and the European Union is a result of such support and confidence,” – the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Karen Nazaryan said.

The Deputy Minister noted that the Agreement will direct the economic and political relations of Armenia and the European Union to a higher level.

According to him, the Agreement envisages strengthening the political dialogue between Yerevan and Brussels to create a basis for continuation of economic and social reforms, because solid commitments to democracy, human rights and the rule of law are the basis of the new Agreement.

The Deputy Minister noted that the Agreement will create stronger cooperation in energy, transport and environment, as well as active mobility for the benefit of our citizens. “The Agreement marks a new era in trade relations between Armenia and the European Union. It will promote economic cooperation, improving the business environment, providing new opportunities for businesses, investments and new jobs.”
