Voting for the election of Vice Presidents of the newly elected National Assembly of the 6th convocation has started.
Ara Babloyan, the newly elected President of the NA chairs the session. 89 members have attended the session and, the quorum is secured. Election results will be announced soon.
3 candidates are nominated for the position of two Vice Presidents: Former Justice Minister Arpine Hovhannisyan from the Republican Party; former Deputy President of the NA Edward Sharmazanov; and Mikayel Melkumyan from “Tsarukyan” Alliance who also had a mandate in the previous convocation.
Yesterday the first session of the 6th convocation of the National Assembly was held. Speaking at the The RA President Serzh Sargsyan and His Holiness Karekin II held speeches. Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, the RA Government were resent as well.
Ara Babloyan, member of the republican party of Armenia was elected the President of NA with 88 for and 22 votes against.
