One of the issues in the agenda of December 8 Government Session referred to enforcement of criminalization of illicit enrichment. The Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan will present the draft decision on making changes in the Criminal Procedure Code to the members of the executive branch. According to it the number “310.1” shall be added after the number “1542” in Part 6 of Article 190 of the Code.
It is stipulated to define the investigative subordination of the offense illicit enrichment provided in the RA Criminal Code, reserving the investigation of such crime to the Special Investigation Service.
The draft, if approved, will be submitted to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia in one package accompanied with the “Draft Law on making Amendments in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.”
As a result of adoption of the draft, investigation of corpus delicti “illicit enrichment” will be reserved to the Special Investigation Service
It is expected that this improvement will enter into force on July 1 next year.
