18 Thousand Euros will be paid from the Budget in the Scope of the Case ”Simonyan vs Armenia”

The Ministry of Justice has presented a draft of decision during the upcoming session of the government which will take place on August 18, according to which the department shall be provided with money.

This decision corresponds with the imperative of the obligations of implementing the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights taken by the Republic of Armenia before the European Council.

One of the compulsory and main conditions of the decision implementation is the payment of money of fair compensation defined by the European Court Of Human Rights for the violation of the rights of the applicant.

In accordance with the decision of the European Court of Human Rights on the case of ’’Simonyan against Armenia» (number 18275/08) on July 7, 2016, the Republic of Armenia is obliged to pay 18,255 (eighteen thousand two hundred fifty-five) Euros in Armenian currency to the applicants as a fair compensation during the first three months after the decision enters into legal force.

The deadline set by the decision of the compensation payment of the European Court of the Human Rights on the mentioned case is the October 7, 2016.
