It was a classical torture: this is the way Daniel Ionnisyan, the coordinator of “Union of Informed Citizens” (UIC) NGO, characterized the tortures done by the policeman against the member of Council of Aldermen of Yerevan, activist David Sanasaryan, Andranik Zakaryan and a boy named Arthur.
The policemen severely beat the boys in the car, then in the Military Unit. D. Ionnisyan mentioned, that as a result of the brutal beating, David Sanasaryan, who formerly was a commander of the reconnaissance subdivision, lost his consciousness and, later, he was diagnosed with brain tumor.
In addition to physical violence, they underwent inhuman treatment as well: “They tried to made them lick and kiss their shoes and spat on them.”
According to Daniel Ionnisyan, other detained citizens witnessed these events.
As for bringing these events into legal sphere and raising the responsibility issue, D. Ionnisyan said: “We have two surprises for our government authorities in response to this police terror”.
