After the violation of the 1994 Ceasefire agreement by Azerbaijan on 1 April 2016 (the military actions unleashed by Azerbaijan), as well as the possible aggressive actions that may take place in future, having the aim to complete protection of the labor rights of militia employees there is a need to identify additional labor guarantees for militia in the Republic of Armenia Labor Code (retain workplace and salary) during the period of volunteer participation in military operations. The Government is confident in this issue as well.
Therefore, the Government confirmed today the new draft which the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan presented and which includes the provisions on to complete protection of the labor rights of militia employees there is a need to identify additional labor guarantees for militia in the Republic of Armenia Labor Code (retain workplace and salary) during the period of volunteer participation in military operations. The draft is also intended to give retroactive effect to the proposed regulations, and apply these on relations arising after 1 April 2016.
