Considering that “in accordance with Article 79 of the First Additional Protocol to the Geneva Convention of August of 1949, journalists are considered civilians during armed conflict and the protection established by the Convention for civilians applies upon the journalists as well. The RA Ministry of Defense calls on all media representatives performing performing their duties on the front line to refrain from wearing military uniforms or similar clothing, which may cause the enemy to consider them combatants and make the enemy’s target.”
At the same time, we call on all media representatives who are going to go to the front line, to wear clearly visible from both sides the cloths with a logo PRESS, which will prove their professional status.
