The National Assembly adopted a draft package of amendments to the RA Law “On Value Added Tax,” which passed with 103 votes for and no votes against.
According to the draft package these amendments are conditioned with the necessity to eliminate the requirement of value added tax which is levied from individuals importing cars from Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter EEU) to the Republic of Armenia.
The organizers (deputies and governments) of the draft believe that the EEU, as a single common economic area, implies free movement of products, resources and capital. This principle is also provided in the EEU legal documents.
Thus, this draft proposes eliminating that contradiction and considers the bargains of importing the cars by the persons who are not individual entrepreneur or a notary as non-VAT taxable transaction.
