Gaspari has been in hunger and water-strike for two days. This is already three days that he underwent violence and torture. Davit Gyurjyan, defender of Gaspari’s rights said in the interview with Iravaban.net. “His cellmates cursed and poured water on him,” the advocate informed.
We reminded to the advocate that a day before the RA Minister of Justice stated in the NA that the relation between Gaspari and his cellmates in “Nubarashen” penitentiary got tensed after Gaspari had lied down on the floor. However Arpine Hovhannisyan noted that no violence was applied against Gaspari. According to the Head of the Department Gaspari told the doctors that no violence had been applied against him. “Violence against a man is not acceptable in any way, regardless of whether he lies on the floor, or does not eat anything or drink water. He thus, does not limit anyone’s rights,” said the advocate interpreting the Minister’s statement.
Gaspari was taken to a cell where other 4 – 5 persons are kept as well, his advocate informed.
He also said that last Friday, when Gaspari was arrested, the defense filed a complaint, which was sent to the Criminal Court of Appeal on Monday. Today is the last day, when the court shall notify about the date of the court session. However no notification has been received by this moment.
