As we have informed there are three nominee for Human Rights Defender; Arman Tatoyan, the deputy Minister of Justice; Zaruhi Postanjyan, NA Deputy; and Advocate Narek Aloyan.
In the interview with Iravaban.net, Tigran Atanesyan said that he did not know Narek Aloyan, but had a positive opinion about the other nominees. “It is clear that they will not appoint Miss Postanjyan, as she represents the opposition. I know Tatoyan he is an excellent professional, an expert lawyer, but it is difficult for me to say how he will show himself in the role of a HR defender. But he does not yield the former ones”.
To our question who according to him is the mostly known candidate among the public, Mr. Atanesyan said, “Naturally it is Mrs. Postanjyan. I believe the position should be provided to the opposition as well. But we have what we have. I do not think that the position will be provided to anyone who does not depend to the powers. However, I know Mr. Tatoyan, he is not a bad choice.”
