The Prime Minister chaired the Second Session of the Anti-Corruption Council

Today, the second session of the Anti-Corruption Council chaired by the RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan took place. Representatives of the political powers, civil society and international organizations attended the meeting.

The session discussed and took note of the results of the assignments of the first session. It was reported that during this period the Government had approved the Program of Fight against Corruption, and approved the agreement on “Assistance in the Implementation of Anti-Corruption Strategy” to be signed with the USAID. Also steps are being undertaken to join the initiative of transparent extractive industries activities, to building cooperation platform with business society and other directions. Considering the fact that the RA Government has already given its consent to the above mentioned agreement with the USAID, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan instructed the Staff of the RA Government to continue effective cooperation with the USAID and to sign the agreement in the beginning of 2016, starting from process of formation of the Expert Committee. Notably, Iravaban.net wanted to ensure coverage of the session, however in contrast to the first session, this time the journalists were not allowed to attend the session.
