On 17 December, the CSOs group of Ararat marz of CSOs’ Anti-Corruption Coalition met in the round table discussion with the representatives of Police on “Corruption Risks in the System of Police”, organized in “Aarhus Center” of Ararat marz.
Mr. Tigran Matevosyan, the Regional Coordinator/Expert of “Multi-Faceted Anti-Corruption Promotion Project” held a welcoming speech. Mr. Gagik Hakobyan, Chief of Police Department of Ararat marz greeted the participants and introduced information on the implemented and upcoming reforms of the police related to providing services to the citizens. Further, Mr. Shavarsh Aramyan, Chief of the 2nd Platoon of the 1st Company of the 2nd battalion of the RA Traffic Police spoke about the activities carried out in the sphere of the Traffic Police.
One of the participants, Director of Ararat School #2, Mr. Z. Hovahannisyan asked the representatives of the Police to be more attentive towards the teenagers and organize meeting discussions with them more frequently.
Mr. Tigran Shahazizyan, President of “Miasin” (Together) NGO was interested whether the people with disabilities or using the wheelchairs would have opportunity to use corresponding services in the regional departments of the Passport and Visa Department of the RA Police.
The Chief of Ararat Police Department attached importance to the discussion and hoped that the joint work of CSOs and Police would contribute to revealing corruption occurrences in the sphere of providing public services by the Police and achieve desirable and positive results.
