Presents for the Judges: How Much Donation do the First Instance Court Judges get?

Getting property and money as a donation or assistance is a common practice among high-ranking officials.

First Instance Court Judges get different kinds of presents. What is the amount of donations? Which is the maximum size of donations and which is the minimum one? What curious presents do the judges declare? The details in the analysis.

In 2013, Artur Ohanyan, the Chairman of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Erebuni and Nubarashen Communities of Yerevan, got donation of 20 USD, and in 2014 his wife Tatevik Ohanyan got a donation of 130 000 RUB.

Though Artush Gabrielyan who is a judge at the same court, did not get donations, his wife Lilit Gabrielyan got 15 000 USD in 2011, 2000 USD in 2012 and 10 000 USD in 2014.

In 2012 Ruben Vardazaryan, the Chairman judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts, declared a property of 45,7 million and 27,6 million AMD received as a donation or assistance.

The judge of the same court Gagik Khandaryan received a donation of 3.8 million AMD in 2011 and 1.2 million AMD in 2013. His wife Hripsime Gamjyan received a donation of 2.4 million AMD in 2011. Their children also were not left out. His daughter Ashkhen Khandaryan received a donation of 1.3 million AMD in 2011. Next year she received a donation of 1 million AMD and the son Rafik Khandaryan received 2.5 million AMD.

The judge of the same court Armen Bektashyan got a donation of 49 000 RUB and 4000 EUR in 2012. And in 2014 his wife got a donation of 4000 EUR.

The wife of the judge Ruben Nersisyan received a donation of 6.5 million AMD in 2011.

Mesrop Makeyan from the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts received donations of 48 000 USD and 19 000 USD in 2011, 5200 USD in 2012 and 2000 USD next year.

The judge of the Court of First Instance of Ararat and Vayots Dzor Districts Rubik Mkhitaryan received a donation of only 3700 AMD at assuming this post in 2013, while his wife Alina Mkrtchyan received a donation of 2 000 USD and 40 000 RUB in 2013, and next year she received presents costing 500 USD and 75 000 RUB.

The judge of Armavir District Court of First Instance Artur Adamyan got a donation of 5 million AMD in 2012.

The judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Lori Marz, Sargis Yeritsyan has received donations of different sizes. In 2014 he declared his donations by four points. What arouses interest is the fact that the donations mentioned in three points are of the same size, 3 million 459 thousand AMD. And the donation mentioned in the other point is of 8 000 USD which equals to previous donations when converting to AMD.

The judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Shirak Marz, Lilit Khachatryan did not get any donations during 2011-2014. Instead, her husband Ara Khahatryan received donations of 3 000 and 1 000 RUB.

The declaration of David Grigoryan, the judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik Marz since 2013, arouses interest. In 2014 he mentioned his donations by three points, moreover, those donations are in the form of natural products costing 70 million, 7.6 million and 4.8 million AMD. While we also learn that at the end of the tax year he got an apartment costing 70 million AMD and a park lodge costing 4.8 million AMD, as well as he bought a car MITSUBISHI PAJERO 3.0 L with 7.6 million AMD.

Lilit Petrosyan, the wife of the judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Gegarkunik Marz, Aghvan Petrosyan, also received donations in the form of property. In 2014 she declared a donation of 10 million and 30 million AMD, and at the end of the tax-year received an apartment costing 10 million AMD and a territory costing 30 million AMD.

The wife of Avag Gabrielyan from the same court got a donation of only 500 thousand AMD in 2011, and the same amount next year.

The number of interesting donations at this court does not end thus. The declaration paper of Marieta Galstyan, the wife of the judge Serob Manukyan, is also very interesting. Thus, in 2011 she received 1000 USD and 1000 EUR, in 2012 and 2013 she received the same amount, and in 2014 only 2000 USD.

Sergey Marabyan, the judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Aragatsotn Marz, received a donation of 100 000 RUB and 15 000 USD at assuming his post.

Thus, of 16 courts of first instance of general jurisdiction, David Grigoryan, the judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik Marz, received the greatest number of donations, 82 million AMD. And the size of the smallest donation was 500 thousand AMD which was received by the wife of Avag Gabrielyan in 2011.
