Arthur Ghazaryan (name is changed) has appeared on the dock for performing sexual actions. According to the indictment on 28 December 2013 at about 21:00 in the room of one of the hotel complexes located in Jrvezh Village of Kotayk Region he tried to perform violent sexual actions against Anush Vardanyan (name is changed).
By grabbing Anush by the hair, Arthur made an attempt to perform sexual actions, after which beating the woman he threw her to the floor and again attempted to rape her, but didn’t manage to complete the offence due to the unforeseen circumstances, as having taken the glass container Anush hit Armen Barseghyan in the head with it. Arthur is accused in a crime prescribed by Part 1 of Article 34-139 of the RA Criminal Code (Homosexual, or other sexual actions against the aggrieved, by using force against the latter or other persons, or threat of using force, or by taking advantage of the aggrieved person’s helplessness, are punished with an imprisonment for the term of 3 to 6 years).
Later at the hospital the defendant reported to the police that Anush had made an attempt to pinch his pocket in the hotel room. On this basis he has also been charged under the requirements of Article 333 (part 1) of the RA Criminal Code, which is a false crime reporting if the person consciously provided false information. A signature not to leave the country has been chosen as a preventive measure against the defendant.
