The Government introduced a draft of state budget for 2016 to the National Assembly. During the break, the journalists asked Gagik Khachatryan why the economic growth rate is just 2.2 percent with the next year’s budget, when during the RRP’s election campaign he promised 7 percent.
In his answer G. Khachatryan mentioned that it is impossible to expect higher rates of economic growth as a result of ongoing developments in the world and the region. Then, he ensured that the Government of Armenia has chosen the averaged rate and the further developments will show the rate of growth.
In the question whether corruption hinders the investments in Armenia or not, he said. “Yes, corruption is also a hindrance, but in struggle against it we have changes though minor. We constantly keep our system under monitoring to see to what degree we have achieved, and so that everything depends not on personalities, but on other systems and mechanisms”. According to the minister, investments have many obstacles such as the corruption as well as the fact that Armenia os a country at war.
