On 6 November, the RA Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources signed a contract with “Imperial Travel” and “Armenia Travel + M” Companies on the purchase of both end Moscow-Ashgabat flight tickets (1 business class and 2 economy class tickets).
Notably, the cost of the “business” class ticket was 1 million 709 thousand AMD and the cost of the “economy” class was 564 AMD, which means that it is threefold less.
So far up to this day there is not any decision of the Prime Minister referring to the business trip of the staff of this Ministry to Turkmenistan. There is no information about such mission on the official website of this ministry either. Therefore, we can assume only that the trip is still ahead.
Notably, the research of Iravaban.net showed that usually the Ministers travel by “business” class tickets. And it is due to mention that the sum paid for the high-class ticket is at least twice as expensive.
And since there are no legal regulations and standards regarding this procurement, which will indicate in which cases and what amount shall be allocated to the officials (and which officials) for purchase of the tickets, the public funds are spent arbitrarily and inefficiently.
