During the first 6 months in this year, materials on 18 corruption occurrences were prepared and completed. On the basis of prepared materials on connection with 9 cases a criminal case was initiated. Initiation of criminal cases on 9 occurrences was rejected on the grounds of acquittal. The Prosecutor of Shirak Aram Yedigaryan informed about this.
According to him the amount of the incomplete cases was 23 in the beginning of the year, but only 16 were adopted in proceedings. Only one of these cases was sent to court with condemnatory decision, other 15 were shortened on the basis of acquittal.”There are 21 criminal cases in processing and one person is arrested.”
Aram Yedigaryan also stated that there is no separated section in the Criminal Code where all the articles connected with corruption offenses are united. They are included in different sections. But the corruption offenses that the Prosecutor general has verified are 31.
