The delegation of the RA Academy of Justice was on a study visit to Federal Republic of Germany on 12-17 October. The delegation included the following members of the Board of Academy: The First Deputy Minister Justice of the RA Arsen Mkrtchyan, the Chairman of the Civil and Administrative Chamber of the RA Court of Cassation Erwand Khundkaryan, Prosecutor of Yerevan City Artur Davtyan, the Rector of the Academy Ruben Melikyan, the Head of Education Department Armen Baghdasaryan and the Head Scientific Research Department Emil Amirkhanyan. According to the source the representatives of the Academy of Justice visited Germany’s Judicial Academy in Tier City in order to get acquainted with the activities and longstanding practice of the similar organization in Germany. It is a world leader in that field by having conducted trainings of judges and prosecutors for 45 years.
During the visit, our delegation got acquainted with the conditions and the activity of the Judicial Academy, further they discussed several issues of bilateral interest with the director of the Academy Stephen Trats. In addition to professional training, the Judicial Academy also pays special attention to the educational programs and teaching methods of related subjects.
During the visit, the representatives of the Academy also visited the corresponding unit of the Ministry of Justice of Reynland-Palatinate region of Germany. The unit deals with coordination of training processes. Some issues referring to the professional training of judges and prosecutors were discussed together with the specialists from the Ministry.
