Today, the relatives of life prisoners organized a protest action in front of the overnment building. Notably, a few days ago 45 life prisoners went on a hunger strike demanding to review their criminal cases.
The protesters in front of the Government building were demanding the same. They were displeased with the indifference of the judiciary and the executive branch towards the issue.
The uncle’s wife of the life prisoner Arthur Kocharyan said that they were tired of waiting in uncertainty. “No one is concerned with the fact of hunger strike. They took Arthur Kocharyan to the prison when he was 18. He is derived from his relatives. His parent’s mental state is undermined,” she said.
The people gathered there said that the parents of the life prisoners who had gone on hunger strike are going to follow their children and go to hunger strike as well.
No representative of the Government approached the protesters. They moved to the Presidential residence to continue the protest there.
