On 30 September the Fall School on European law started with the lecture on Article 6 – Right to a fair trial of European Convention on Human Rights. Advocate from Germany, Dr. Thomas Nappert, spoke about the presumption of innocence, protection from double liability, and referred to the right to be heard openly. The lecture was followed by discussions.
Further, Dr. Nappert delivered a lecture on the rights of prisoners and application of anonymous witness testimony.
The participants of the Fall School had an opportunity to draw parallels between the national and international legislation, get acquainted with the German experience, as well as to communicate with the German advocate.
The day ended with excursion, they visited the Hayravank Monastery Complex and had lunch in a restaurant near the Lake Sevan.
