Vardan Ghukasyan, the former deputy Head of Charbakh Police department was arrested on 21 October. He was dismissed from the system in 2013, after he had hindered the journalists activities of Ani Hovhannisyan, the journalist of on-line periodical “Hetq”. Vardan Ghukayan had hit and Insulted the journalist. Vardan Ghukayan’s arrest was confirmed to Iravaban.net by the RA Police. He is suspected under the Article 182 (Extortion) of the Criminal Code of the RA.
Yesterday, Vardan Ghikasyan was in front of the Presidential Seat of the RA. He insists that Asot Karapetyan, the Head of Yerevan Police is persecuting him. He was going to begin a sitting strike in front of the Presidential Residence yesterday.
