CALL TO JOIN THE ANTI-CORRUPTION COALITION INITIATIVE GROUP

“Armenian Young Lawyers Association” NGO (AYLA) in cooperation with partner “Freedom of Information Center of Armenia” NGO (FOICA) invites the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to join the Initiative Group of Anti-Corruption Coalition established in the framework of the “Multi-Faceted Anti-Corruption Promotion” project funded by the European Union.

The main objective of the Initiative Group of Anti-Corruption Coalition is to raise the effectiveness of CSOs to conduct surveillance and monitoring of the anti-corruption reforms set out in the government’s five-year programme and the legal aspects of the 2012-2016 justice sector reforms strategy, to implement the UN Convention Against Corruption.

The coordinating team of the project will select 5 regional coordinators in Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Gavar, Ararat and Kapan who will be responsible in their respective regions for the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Coalition, and later for the organization of activities.

Selection of CSOs and media organizations will be based on criteria such as previous experience in monitoring, oversight and investigation in anti-corruption, legal rights and related issues, as well as environmental issues, and have relevant experience in legal coverage of such issues.

The Mission of FOI is to promote application of the RA Freedom of Information Law, contribute to the transparency and openness of the Armenian government system and to stimulate civic society’s involvement in the governance system. FOICA is the founding member of the Freedom of Information Advocates Network (FOIA Network).
