In Armenia during January to April of the year 2012 4871 crimes were committed. According to the National Statistical Service of the RA, most of the crimes, approximately 52 per cent, were in Yerevan.
The most criminal region is Lori, where 435 crimes were committed. Moreover, compared with the same period of the last year, the number of crimes raised for 12 per cent. During the previous years the rate of crimes was high in Lori either. With the number of crimes Kotayk ranks the third, where 349 crimes were committed but compared with previous years there is not much increase. The most law-abiding region is Vayots Dzor with only 63 crimes. The greatest decline was in Aragatsotn.
