On 2 and 3 January, the Azerbaijanian forces made subversive-reconnoitering attempts in southern and eastern directions of NKR Defense Army. Subversive-reconnoitering groups of the enemy tried to penetrate into our positions. As a result of vigilant and combined operations of our military men the enemy suffered losses and was thrown back. Unfortunately the Armenian side suffered losses as well. The RA Ministry of Defense shares the grief of loss and expresses its condolences to the families of hero soldiers who died defending the Motherland.
The RA Ministry of Defense states that the situation created on the eve of Christmas, is the result of insidious policies of Azerbaijan’s political and military leadership and is completely contrary to the spirit of the OSCE Minsk Group negotiations and logic aimed at peaceful settlement of the conflict.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense draws the attention of the international community, specifically of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to the irresponsible policy, which the Powers of Azerbaijan have actually restarted in the very beginning of 2015, and which reaffirms the necessity of condemnation of such a policy by the international community.
Any provocation unleashed by the Azerbaijanian leadership in 2015 also would be severely punished and will inevitably lead to large losses in the Azerbaijanian armed forces, which will be the full responsibility of that state’s government.
