This article is another in the series “Innovative Financing Mechanisms for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)”. The series is implemented within the framework of the “Strong Civil Society” program. The series aims to study and present effective models of CSO financing, raise public awareness about this issue, and contribute to the development of civil society in Armenia.

Arpine Hakobyan, President of the “NGO Center” Civil Society Development NGO, stated that the organization has been operating since 1994 and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year: “We work in various directions, mostly targeting other civil society institutions, conducting training sessions, providing consultations, offering grants, and strengthening civil society through grant management.”

According to Arpine Hakobyan, programs empowering youth and women are aimed at ensuring their participation in decision-making processes and general community life activities.

“I also highly value our organization’s advocacy programs aimed at protecting interests in various sectors, and recently I can emphasize activities implemented in the context of charity sector development and culture establishment, as well as our work in recent years on public procurement system reforms,” she noted.

According to Hakobyan, the adoption of the 1% law will have a positive impact on emphasizing the role of CSOs.
