On 8 July, the last court hearing on the case of former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyanwas held at the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, the verdict will be announced tomorrow.

In an interview with journalists after the session, he said that he will win. In response to the journalist’s question, he noted that there might have been people from the system who testified against him. “How could they not be, for God’s sake?”

“Just as Mr. Osipyan betrayed the system, he also betrayed the person who appointed him Chief of Police and gave him the rank of general. Now he is trying to play opposition. That is the type of people,” he said.

Vladimir Gasparyan, in response to the journalist’s question as to what sentence he thinks the court will pass, said: “How can I think for the court?” I do not have such childish things: I dream, I think, whatever was needed to be said, was  said, the rest is in the hands of the Lord and the judge, I rely on the Lord.”

The journalist noted that Valery Osipyan continued his work even under Vladimir Gasparyan, to which Gasparyan replied that he always provided his subordinates the opportunity to convert. “As the Lord always gives us the opportunity to repent, I have given it to my subordinates as well.”

Referring to the 3rd President of the RA, Serzh Sargsyan, he mentioned that the President never gave any illegal instructions.
