Artsakh has been under siege for 223 days.

Today, on 22 July, 13 patients from the “Republican Medical Center” CJSC of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh, with persons accompanying them, were transferred to specialized medical centers of the Republic of Armenia with the mediation and accompaniment of the International Committee of the “Red Cross”.

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh reported.

During the day, it is anticipated to return 13 medical patients, with persons accompanying them, to Artsakh by the vehicles of ICRC, who were sent to Armenia for treatment within the framework of the state order.

More than 200 medical patients are waiting to be transferred to professional medical centers of the Republic of Armenia to receive immediate medical care.

Despite the efforts made, the Red Cross has not been able to ensure the supply of much-needed medicine from Armenia for a long time, because the Azerbaijani side continuously prohibits even the supply of medicine.

At the moment, 24 children are receiving inpatient treatment in “Arevik” Medical Center, 7 of them are in the neonatal and resuscitation department. 73 patients are receiving inpatient treatment at the “Republican Medical Center” CJSC, 6 patients are in the intensive care unit, 2 of them are in critical condition.

Norayr Mkrtchyan, the Minister of Education, Science Culture and Sports of the Artsakh Republic, said that due to the lack of food supply and fuel in the conditions of the blockade, the issue of the continuity of the activities of kindergartens is problematic.

“We will try to continue ensuring the activities of preschool institutions during the month of July. If the situation remains unchanged, I regret to say that, most likely, we will not have the opportunity to ensure the activities of kindergartens in August,” the Minister said.

Road blocking actions will be held in Yerevan on 24 July from 08:30.
