Lawyer, Member of Board of the Chamber of Advocates Harutyun Harutyunyan issued a statement stating:

“Dear friends and colleagues,

I apologize to all my friends and colleagues whom I have ever annoyed or offended with any question (although I don’t remember such a case).

Today, both the advocates’ community and the judges are subjected to unprecedented attacks by law enforcement agencies and the Supreme Judicial Council.

Romorrow, at 11:00 a.m., lawyers will march from the RA Chamber of Advocates to the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs to demand the resignation of RA Chief of Police Aram Hovhannisyan, and at 12:30 p.m. a protest action will be held in front of the building of the Supreme Judicial Council demanding Karen Andreasyan’s resignation.

I call to all of you to put aside the resentment you have ever had towards each other, the misunderstandings you once had and build an independent advocates community and an independent judicial authority with joint efforts.

Our unity and solidarity will have no alternative.
