The Municipality will continue to work as usual until the next elections of the Council of Elders. Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan stated on the air of the Public TV.

“We have a First Deputy Mayor who temporarily performs the duties of the Mayor. Politically, it makes no difference to us whether the elections will be early or late; we are talking about only two or three months. The Mayor was not elected, because it is illogical to elect a Mayor for several months, nothing changes. There is no legal problem,” Avinyan said.

He does not understand why his presence at the events of the Municipality becomes a subject of discussion among the public. According to him, he simply coordinates the directions that are assigned to him by his position.

“It would be illogical if the Deputy Mayor coordinating the work with the administrative districts did not visit the administrative districts and understand the problems. Criticizing me for that is illogical. All Deputy Mayors should work like this. If I were the opposition, I would focus on what I didn’t do,” Tigran Avinyan said.
