The State Revenue Committee informs that in recent months, cases of gold chains being exported from Armenia without declaration were discovered during surveillance activities carried out by the Zvartnots Devisison of the Anti-Smuggling Department of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

As a result of the carried out control activities, 9 cases of illegal transportation of gold by individuals from RA to third countries, mainly Turkey and UAE, with a total weight of 22.7 kg were prevented. The weight of one gold chain, which is the subject of a violation, varies between 2.5 kg, and its value reaches 52 million drams (USD 130000).

Regarding the facts, according to Article 316 of the Law on Customs Regulation of the RA, protocols on the violation of the customs rules were drawn up and the materials were provided to the legal department of the RA SRC in order to ensure the further process.
