On January 23, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Brussels on a working visit, had a meeting with Hadja Lahbib, the Foreign Minister of Belgium.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Hadja Lahbib highlighted the importance of the EU Council’s decision to deploy a civilian monitoring mission in Armenia adopted on the same day.
The Foreign Minister of Armenia touched upon the situation resulting from Azerbaijan’s illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor and the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. It was emphasized that Azerbaijani maximalist and non-constructive approaches seriously undermine the establishment of security and stability in the region.
Minister Mirzoyan briefed his colleague on current developments in the normalization process of Armenia-Turkey relations.
The sides discussed the possibilities of deepening and expanding the Armenian-Belgian bilateral cooperation. The expansion of the volume of trade turnover and the activation of business contacts were emphasized.
