Almost all member states have clearly emphasized the inadmissibility of Azerbaijan’s blockade of Artsakh: Artak Beglaryan on the discussion of the UN Security Council

The discussion of the UN Security Council on the Azerbaijani blocking of the only road between Artsakh and Armenia has ended.

Artak Beglaryan, adviser to Artsakh Minister of State, wrote on his Facebook page.

“Quite valuable statements were made by various states, and we can say that almost all member states have clearly emphasized the inadmissibility of Azerbaijan’s blockade of Artsakh and the need for its immediate elimination.

As one of the urgent means of UN intervention, we were talking about this discussion in our demands during the protests in front of the UN office in Armenia. I am glad that based on RA’s application, it was possible to organize such a discussion, but this is only the beginning of the process of active and comprehensive involvement of the United Nations in solving the short-term and long-term problems of Artsakh.

I hope that the draft statement proposed by France will be accepted tomorrow, and Armenia should make maximum and operative efforts to increase the pressure on Azerbaijan in the UN and other formats.

We also followed the session in front of the UN office in Armenia as part of our sit-in, and tomorrow we will discuss the next steps of our struggle.”
