Only 6 of the 16 dead citizens are identified: Hayk Kostanyan

As of 10:00 am, the identity of only 6 of the 16 dead citizens is identified.

The press spokesman of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Hayk Kostanyan reported.

According to him, there are 17 missing citizens.

As a result of search and rescue operations, the bodies of 16 citizens were found (Misak Patvakani Margaryan, born in 1964, Anahit Vazgen Mkhitaryan, born in 1967, Jemma Sargis Nazaryan, born in 1960, Anahit Zarzand Khalatyan, Vardan Gurgen Kocharyan, born in 1960 and Gayane Artavazd Avetisyan, born in 1966 and the bodies of ten unidentified citizens).

As a result of the calls received to the 911 hotline of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the following citizens can be considered missing in the territory of the “Surmalu” Shopping Center:

  2. Marat Shahbazyan
  3. Sirarpi Khachatryan
  4. Mariam Khachatryan
  5. Harut Garakyan
  6. Gagik Karapetyan
  7. Artavazd Hayrapetyan
  8. Erna Grigoryan (born in 1980)
  9. Hrachya Sargsyan (born in 1976)
  10. Vachagan Yeghoyan (born in 2000)
  11. Vanik Amirkhanyan
  12. Ksenia Badalyan (born in 1981)
  13. Aram Harutyunyan
  14. David Mkhitaryan
  15. Lyuba Gribova (citizen of the Russian Federation, born in 1959)
  16. Mehri Taheri (Citizen of Iran)
  17. Gegham Petrosyan (born in 1985)

Let’s remind  that on 14 August, at 1:23 p.m., the National Crisis Management Center received an alert that an explosion and fire occurred in the “Surmalu” Shopping Center located at 15 Arshakunyats Street in Yerevan, as a result of which the three-story building partially collapsed.
