Yerem Sargsyan, the lawyer of Judge Boris Bakhshiyan of the Court of First Instance of Syunik Marz, said this today, 3 February, in a conversation with journalists.

“We are dealing with the undermining of the law enforcement system, the dismantling of the law, the widespread pressure of judges. In regard of a judge who does not obey and makes his own decisions they show everyone that they will punish, even initiate criminal cases, suspend the powers of judges.

We specifically are dealing with the intervention of a judge, that is, the judge made a decision based on the facts of the case, it was not appealed by the Prosecutor’s Office to the Court of Appeals, now the prosecutor and the investigator say that the court act, which they have has no right to question, is not enough and it is illegal,” the lawyers said.

According to him, in order to express an opinion on a judicial act that has entered into legal force, there is a Court of Appeal, which must check the legality and justification, and on that basis, if there were any violations, only then they could think about some processes.
