Vilen Gabrielyan, a member of the “Civil Contract” Faction of the National Assembly, presented a draft law on making amendments to the Constitutional Law “Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly”.
He proposes to supplement Article 138 of the law (election of the chairmen of the Standing Committees and their deputies) with a new part 11.1.
«11.1. “If the Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee is not elected, the competent faction shall nominate a new candidate within five working days after the voting.”
Notably, the “Armenia” Faction of the National Assembly nominates Arthur Ghazinyan as a deputy chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security. He has not been elected to that position 12 times.
It should be noted that the faction refuses to nominate another candidate.
